Bottled as Mecatzer Classic Bavarian Golden Lager: Faint hay aroma. Golden pour with floaties and thin head. Doughy lemon grass flavor. Rose hip finish, but I could be mistaken. Decent recipe, flawed production. Pretty refreshing anyway. Why is there Weiss in the name? It isn’t on the label and I tasted no wheat malt. Unfiltered yeast yes, but no wheat. Run of the mill helles IMO, and not even a good one..

Bottle from Bottle Barn. Slightly hazy pale gold with a slight white head. Aromas of citrus/floral and pale malt. Near medium body with fizzy carbonation. It’s a little bready, and crisp. Fair amount of noble hop. Nice bitterness in the finish. Full. Very nice.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a lasting white head. Mild spiced and light fruity hops aroma. Flavour is mild fruity and sweet at first. Joined by a more dry cornish and bitter hoppy flavour, mildly spiced before and into the finish. Ends crisp and bitter.

The bottle looks neither good nor bad, very simple. The beer in the glass looks good, fine creamy foam. Flavor also very good. Modest spicy, a little bit fruity. Good beer.

Gutes Masseprodukt. Test vom 26.9.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,9,8,6,12,7 - 7,55

Bottle: Golden coloured, smaller creamy, lasting head, lively carbonation; solid sweet-grainy, also a bit hoppy nose; moderate to robust sweet-bitter flavour, silky MF, medium bodied; moderate hoppy and sweet-grainy finish. A chewy, tasty Helles...............
