This limited version of Necessary Evil has been aged in Calvados barrels for 8 months. We were eager to work with this renowned brandy to create a completely unique offering. It packs a lavish punch of apples, treacle, and a dash of vanilla. Best served around 10-12°C, so take out of the fridge for a while before serving. Whilst this beer will age well, there is no time like the present, so we recommend opening and enjoying it as soon as possible.

Bottle, almost no head whatsoever, quite opaque very dark brown colour, aroma of wood, dried fruits, a bit of spiciness and chocolate, lots of dried fruits in flavor, a bit of vanila and wax, some chocolate and plums behind, a bit of alcohol, not too heavy and quite smooth inspite of the ABV. Nice and enjoyable, though I expected more.

375ml bottle @ The Colmore, Birmingham shared with Craig, Rich and John. Deep very dark brown, good tan head that sticks around. Aroma brings oak, roasted malt, dried dark fruit, distant calvados barrel. Continues nicely to taste, fairly rich, dark sweetness with a strong alcohol presence. Extraordinary stuff.

Bottle at the Colmore, Birmingham. Poured almost black in colour with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, oak and boozy alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet and liqourice bitter, with a rich, smooth, roasty, dry, oaky, liqourice, boozy alcohol bitter palatable. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nicely balanced.
