So stack that firewood, crack open a Freezin' Season, and tell seasonal affective disorder to go $%^# itself. Yeah, it's cold outside. But inside, this warming winter ale always keeps the bonfire burning.

Draught @ George Keeley, Manhattan NYC (Dec 2025).Clear amber with a large spongy beige head, cinnamon-nutmeg aroma, medium carbonation, mildly sweet caramel malt taste with cinnamon and nutmeg, thin body, long finish. Proper winter warmer.

Amber pour, small tan head. Aroma of dark malt, some booze. Taste has dark stone fruit notes, some sweetened malt, moderate hop bite. Palate has much of the same, some lingering nondescript dark malt notes, some of the same booziness and hop oils linger on the nose.

Bottle. Malty and hoppy aroma and taste, caramel, honey, spicy notes, medium bitter. Medium to full body, malty spicy caramelly finish. Ok, but not easy to drink.

Crisp amber and light brown coloured body with a thinnish tan head, only a centimetre or so tall. Aroma of brown sugar, light nuts, some earthy malts and a good hit of bread, yeast and some softer but noticeable hops. Medium-bodied; Strong nuts and earthy malts dominate at first with a light rustic quality along with some softer sugars of molasses and pitted fruits, all ending with some mild yeastie and toasted malt notes. Aftertaste is relatively easy-going with the faintest bit of hops here without much bitterness and some stronger toasted grain and malty notes here but the sweetness on the end seems strongest. Overall, a pretty nice and relatively easy-going, drinkable beer with a good malt profile and some smooth sweetness at the very end. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased from Trader Joe's in Newport News, Virginia on 20-November-2022 for US$1,84 with a 'best by' date of 14-March-2023 (pi day) sampled in my hotel room here in Orlando, Florida with my wife and three kids on vacation on 29-December-2022.

Getrunken an einem kühlen Tag im Mai. Klar bernsteinfarben mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, leicht fruchtiger Geruch.

Caramel and a little toffee. Definitely has a scotch ale vibe like cheap mentioned. Some light prune and a little sweet tobacco. Quite easy drinking - should this be an American strong ale? Not that I can think of a good alternative here. Dark copper pour with good head and lacing. Light sweet finish with some hint of rust. Bottle.

Bottle, taste is malty. Smells is malty. Is this a wee heavy? I think so, heheh. Really I think this is a Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy. It has the same attributes and same feeling on the brain that wee heavy does. It actually taste the same too. You know, the mouth coating, brain dizzying effects. Goes down too easy for the alky content it exhibits. Thanks FD for the vacation, heheh. Yes, a malty gingham irish check.
