Schwarzbier
A truly drinkable German dark lager. Loads of malt complexity - fresh baked rye bread, baker's chocolate, and a hint of coffee, but still light and crisp. Named for the 700 year old hiking trail in Germany.

Excited for this one, becoming real schilling fan boy. Darkish brown and fine head. Nose is dark bread and chocolate. Tastes of pumpernickel, chocolate, plum, raisin, char. Some sweetness. Lighter bodied and easy drinking.

Pours mahogany tinged deep brown into a shaker. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Cocoa and coffee aromas. Dry with sweet brown bread, raisin and cocoa front to back. Lasting pumpernickel finish.
