Brett Porter is inspired by the ancient London Porters, superstar beers of the 1800s preserved in giant wooden barrels in which Brettanomyces yeasts would develop. Our Porter is not barrel-aged, but rather co-fermented with our house Brettanomyces, and brewed with magnificent special English malts.
She is black with a ruby accent. Her foam is dark beige, fine and persistent. The Brettanomyces are well present in the nose and add a winy character with hints of ripe cherries, as an old kirsh, and a bit of leather. A roasted, slightly smoky touch completes the picture. We find these flavours back in the mouth, accompanied by notes of moka, cocoa powder, and prunes. Her body is mellow but light, which makes her surprisingly refreshing and easy to drink!

Flaska. Mycket kaffebönor, gräddig, vitpeppar. Härligt torr. Viss syrlighet. Smakar som en något syrligare traditionell porter. Välgjord!

Bottle. HOTM. Nearly black. Slim dense lasting semi lacing pale beige foam. Looks the beans. Earthy ashy coffee grind malts. Sweet dried vine fruit. Bit of chocolate orange. Whiff of brett. Taste is chocolate sweet up front. Earthy and lightly dry. Nice hit of orange peel bitterness. Slick and easy drinking. Fairly high carbonation. Lingering bretty earthy bitterness to finish. Classy.

Black with creamy head. Aroma has light Brett, wild strawberries, roasted malt and a touch of coffee. In the taste there also a toasted nutty element. Then a growing funk and more roasted malt. Super complex and flavoursome but surprisingly easy to drink.

Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk. Appearance - brown to black with an orange chink near the bottom of the glass. Nose - wood, funk and tart. Taste - dark chocolate and then funky wood. Palate - tangy sour, middle and finish. Overall - this shouldn't have been loaded as a porter but rather a sour, in my opinion.
