On tap at BrewDog Outpost Tower Hill, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out intense cognac, maple syrup and medium roasted malt. Flavour is wonderfully rich, with intense maple syrup, light cognac, and medium-high roasted malt. Rich maple syrup and cognac finish with heavy roast. Excellent.

Tap at Brewdog Clerkenwell. An opaque jet black coloured pour with a fading dark tan head. Aroma is big meaty black liquorice, earthy, boozy dark roast, boozy Christmas pudding. Flavour is composed of charred wood, fizzy liquorice, dark chocolate. Char. Boozy fruit cake. Fig. Palate is medium sweet, fizzy, Warming alcohol. I think it lacks the depth of precious iterations.

Keg at BD Clerkenwell, 05/05/23. Black topped with a tan head. Nose is chocolate, Crunchie bar, dark malts, molasses, sugars. Taste comprises chocolate pot, maple syrup, modest barrel, honeycomb, dried fruit rinds, kiss of booze. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Okay sipper ... just comes over a touch subdued and lacking effort compared with previous incarnations from this range.

330ml bottle - Pours a viscous black with a small foamy tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, maple syrup, hazelnuts and chocolate. A sweet boozy taste, chocolate, caramel, maple syrup, and coffee flavours with a warming alcohol and sweetish finish.
