Really nice! Very malty as your expect but it’s a nice sweet maltiness. Biscuity, but maybe even cookie like. Nice finish!

On cask at The Kernel, pours a cloudy dark amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out a very nice earthy piney hop character — unusual for a cask bitter — along with bready malt and toasted caramel malt. Flavour is robust, with toasted dry caramel, bready malt, and some English piney hops. Man, if this was how all cask bitters were, I could get behind the style. Impressive.

5.1% version. Hazy amber beer, good cream colour head. Airy soft palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally crispness. Fluffy malts, a nice light creamy sweetness. Some tangy biscuit and a whisper of unsweet caramel. Back end brings cooling pine and a touch of Bramling Cross dark berries. Something vaguely medicinal persists as well. Smooth semi dry finish. Apart from the slightly off note towards the end, a very nice bitter.

Gravicask, 5.4 % abv, half shared with Finn at St Albans Beer & Cider Festival 2023. Cloudy brownish body, bubbles on the surface, spotty lacing. Moderate aromas of lightly stewed fruits, mid-sweet. Blended taste of almond, biscuit, and dried fruits. Hints of bittersweet malty fruits to the end. Satisfying (St Albans, 27.09.2023).

(Draught at Mother Kelly's Vauxhall, London, 21 May 2023) Brownish amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of toast, dark bread and citrus. Malty, hoppy taste with toast, caramel, orange peel and a balanced citric/herbal bitterness. Medium body, dry. Solid and well made bitter, with a good hop character. Very nice.
