A real classic, Belhaven’s St Andrews Ale is inspired by the great Scottish invention – golf. It’s simple really – a truly great beer, great balance and great flavours. The pale malt gives a biscuity and Horlicks note and the crystal malt adds toffee and caramel. Challenger and Goldings hops give a clean bitterness and fresh dry hop character which balances the sweet malt and the warmth from the alcohol. A warming, malty brew.

Aroma of British hops, nice and sharp citrus hops with touches of pine and a slight biscuit malt. The flavor is very malty and quite bready with a slight metallic peat flavor. Finish is sweet on the malt with a lingering bitterness.

Smell- weak malt, maybe hops. Foam bitter, duh.., malt, hops. Appearance simple bottle, nice brewer bottle cap. Seems clear Amber, medium carbonation. Taste bitter, citrus, hops. Bitter aftertaste. OK sipper.
