Said to be hoppier than a hopping mad hopi, our rather good Doctor Okell's takes the 200 year old tradition of the strong India Pale Ale to its ultimate, thanks to one of Dr Mike's finest brewing moments...

Doctor Okell's is an extremely light coloured beer with a surprising full bodied taste. The sweetness is offset by a very strong hopping rate. That gives the finished beer an over all roundness with very spicy lemony notes and a fine dry finish to counteract the initial sweetness.

Ingredients: All pale ale malt, hops, 1st Fuggles and First Gold, 2nd Hallertau and Saaz, 3rd Cascade and Styrian Goldings.

Old rating from 2013 - 500ml bottle brought back from the Isle of Man by my wife. It pours amber with a small white head. Aromas & tastes of flora, butter, citrus, toffee & herbs. Moderate body. Moderate bitter finish

Bottle from ShopRite, Peel. Copper colour with a moderate white head. Malty aroma, flavour is bitter hops, over a medium malty base

Country #119 - Isle of Man 🇮🇲 Pretty standard English IPA, albeit quite hoppy. Almost has a hint of pickle flavor in the aftertaste? Big thanks for the lead on this one Fredrik W.

Sample thanks to Grumbo: Poured an orange with a white head. Aroma is hoppy, fruity, piney. Taste is bitter, light hops, grain and malts, biscuit.

18/3/2021. Bottle courtesy of Robin, huge thanks! Pours clear golden amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet malts, floral hops, citrus, buttery caramel. Medium sweetness, moderate but developing bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average carbonation. Gentle bitter and spicy finish. Quite drinkable.
