Dark brown colour with a longlasting tan head. Roasted malt in the aroma. Hints of caramel and hops too. Lots of roasted taste and hints of chocolate. But lots of bitterness in the flavor aswell. A very nice one.

Bottled(500ml). -dark brown colour with a lasting brown foamy head, a bit too sweet just like Hell, strong malty and slightly floral aroma with caramel and chocolate notes, nice bitter finish

(Bottle 50 cl) "Hell" was a pale beer so this "Heaven" s’gotta be black? Somehow I would’ve expected things the other way around. Anyways, this really is pitch black with a small light brown head. Dry and bitter with a lovely hoppy aroma and an almost absent sweetness. A bit too ashy for my liking. 260405

Bottle. Hoppy, very dusty aroma. Also fruity, roasted malts. Almost black colour with a red hue. Small unstable, light brown head. Very malty and quite roasted flavour, but still mild. Aftertaste has some roasted barley bitterness. Quite nice, semi-smooth mouthfeel.

Bottled. Black/dark brown opaque, decent brown head. Malty and a bitter hoppy aroma. Bitter hoppy taste with roast coming in strong. Aftertaste is more bitter than the bitterness while drinking it.

Bottled (BB 04/2005)
Almost opaque dark ruby, creamy expresso head. Aroma has roast, cold coffee and hints of hops. Medium to full bodied, lots of roast with hints of sugar. Bitter finish. There is just something plastic in the palate which prevents this to being an excellent.

Bottle - re-rated, and glad I did
Godd complex aroma: Pine, Marzipan, roses and milk chocolate. Dark chestnut colour, tanned creamy head. Milk chocolate, burned, strawberry minerals and slightly ashen notes dominate the flavor. Medium body.

Very dark colour, nearly black; dark greige-brown head, fast dissipating. Very (dark)bready, chocolate & varnish nose. Bread aroma gets more burnt - Maillard? Dry, bitterish taste. Grainy flavours like specific dark grains, roaste barley or oats; slight acidic finish included. Bit smoked too. Mouthfeel bit thinnish, unlike all the grainy flavours would suggest. Good dark bottom-fermenting beer. 'Starkol' is Scandinavian perception. Big thanks to Bjorn & Anders for the Jämtlands choice.

A deep red beer with a beutiful lasting light brown head. The aroma is fruity and hoppy. THe flavor is slightly sweet from a good maltblend - a little watery in the middle but with a good smoked bitter finish. An OK stout.

Dark amber, with red shades; thin collar. Big aroma: malt, roasted malt, porto wine, liquorice. Also very good body character, malt, roasted malt, some fruitness; well round. Finishes with a well hopped and roasted malt final. Really an interesting one.
