An affogato is an Italian dessert of a couple of scoops of gelato topped with hot espresso. We were inspired so we made a beer with a dense and flavourful body choc-full of coffee flavor. Our friends at Old Town Coffee made a custom espresso roast special for this dark treat. The beer is topped with vanilla and a hint of strawberry to round it up.

On tap at MBCC 2023, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out deep roasted malt and muddled cocoa. Flavour is deep roasted and chocolatey, with earthy roast, cocoa and some bitterness. Roasty and bitter, but not particularly cohesive. Okay.

Tap. Black color with beige head. Aroma is vanilla, strawberry, not so much coffee. Taste is big strawberry cream, vanilla, again why so much strawberry and so little coffee? Some roast in the back, velvety mouthfeel, soft medium carbonation. Alright, but for me this would need more coffee and less strawberries.

Malmö February Tasting@Palace Hall (25/02/2023) - dark sweet and roasted malty with layers of chocolate and caramel, sprinkling of charred brown sugar, vanilla essence, dark malty close, good stuff.
