11.2oz bottle. Filtered, pale orange-yellow. Thin non-head, lots of CO2 bubbles. Doughy, sweet aroma, very Euro-macro. Light bodied, straightforward. Not as clean as crisp as the style should be, some sweet, fruity, boozy tones underneath. Drinkable, if you paid 41 cents and it was the only store selling beer in Germany. Seems like a bullshit cheap recipe they send abroad. Factory swill for the most part, but at least it’s German factory swill.

Bottle. Pale gold body. Fizzy, white head, rapidly diminishing. First whiff yields a slight sulphurous smell. The rest of the aroma is grassy, vegetative and grainy. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. While this pilsener is crisp and fairly clean, it is too sweet. The slight corn taste and slight graininess are less than appealing.

Generic mediocre pils. Herbal hoppiness in the nose and a finish that gets rather grassy. Rather creamy mouthfeel for a pils but it doesn’t really save things. Sweet, watery grain flavor dominates. There’s just not much going on here. I got this bottle very fresh, though I could see it getting skunky if it sat on the shelf in its green bottle. Meh.

Bottle. Corn/barley malt and grass hops aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Mildly sweet barley malt and moderately bitter grass hops. Pretty mediocre pilsener.

American Beer Distro six-pack ($6): Pours a super pale body without much head to speak of. Grass, grain and hops in the aroma. But where I like this beer is at the point when you drink it really cold... it gives a different impression from drinking a supercold American macro (this is of course a macro)... instead of hiding the offensive flavours, this one accentuates the mild flavors and the refreshing qualities of this beer. Got some earthiness, a few mild hops, and some grassy flavors. Not really bitter, there is an underlying sweetness. Not a lot here, but for the price and the refreshment I couldn’t really ask for more.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear golden color with a thin fizzy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of toasted malts with a bit of grass. Taste is toasted malts, caramel, grassy hop notes. Medium bodied. Decent beer, better than expected.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Flavor in the beginning very dry, very hoppy. In the end it turns spicy, like wheat. Balanced finish. Drinkable and good beer.
