Slottskällans Pilsner has an elegant, dry maltiness and a light body, accompanied by aromatic hops. The aroma is fresh and slightly flowery. The traditional German pilsener character comes from pilsner malts, Hersbrucker and Saaz hops, and a long, cold lagering.

Bottle from TBone, sold as Slottskällans Classic Pils. Pale golden color, cloudy. Vennel and mint in the aroma. A soft grassy bitterness and mint in the flavor. Hints of dust and apple. Not a classic pilsener, but not unpleasant.

(50 cl bottle from Systembolaget) Clear pale golden color, white head. Acidic mixed with slightly burnt pop-corn scent. Hoppy and spicy taste, but a bit harsh bitter and also flat. Spritzy mouthfeel, high but too sharp bitterness.

Bottle, 4.6%. Acidic aroma. Pale yellow colour. Small unstable head. The flavour is quite malty with some citrus to it. Late bitterness, which is a bit rough. Not bad.

(Draught, Stockholm Beer Festival, 29 Sep) Golden yellow colour, white foamy head. Malty nose with notes of hay and grassy hops, a hint of artificial sweetener. Malty taste with tropical fruit, mango, citrus and grassy hops. Some sweetness peeping through. Nice, but not really exciting.

Bottled. Pale golden, with a small white head. Hoppy and fruity aroma with pine and some lime. Fruity and hoppy flavor and a bit thin body, but a really nice pilsner. (060825)

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Grassy, fresh malty and hoppy nose. Crispy carbonation in combination with hops, malts and grassyness makes this a wellbalanced brew. Also refreshing. Totally awesome pilsener in my opinion.

Bottled (BB 08/2006). Yellow color, small white head. Fresh cut grass aroma. Refreshing grassy flavor, long grassy aftertaste. Excellent hoppy summer drink. Hersbrucker is not so familiar to me, but I suppose it is a hop which gives character here.

A light yellow beer with a huge bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet with some weird hop notes - I wonder if it is Hersbrucker doing this. The flavo ris sweet and dry and crispy malty with a light touch of citrus and hops. Refreshing.
