(bottle) Hazy, light orange colour with a big and dense foamy white head. Moderately sweet, slightly fruity (banana) wheat-malty nose with a touch of vanilla and clovy spice. Sweet and slightly sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation, at least for a Hefeweizen. Soft grainy, moderately wheaty taste; rather slim, slightly wheaty and quite phenolic (cloves, vanilla), spicy finish. Who needs a Weizen in Franconia ? At a growing number of breweries one has to ask where the Weizens are actually brewed.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy, pilsener golden with a tall, handsome, creamy white head. Distinct aromas of yeast and banana. Medium-bodied with a fairly high carbonation. Accents of phenol, citrus and banana. Ends on a dry note. 101106
