In its aroma, Druif (2022) showcases strawberries and ripe peaches together with dark cherries, a slight hint of almond and a touch of wood from the oak barrels. Taste-wise it starts with the typical dark cherry and blackberry notes of Kékfrankos. This bold fruitiness is accompanied by a gentle sourness and a fairly dry, almost port-like finish. In the aftertaste the tannic part of blackberry seeds and almond is present, together with a touch of creamy oak.

750ml bottle I bought to go from The Roost. Pours a lovely, clear, garnet red with some creamy, pinkish head. Lovely nose, cherry, raspberry, concord grape, a little cough syrup. Flavor is nicely grapey and only mildly tart. There's a heft to the body that's felt. Malt. Maybe some wheat, though it's far from grassy. Dried cherry and some bright raspberry on the tongue. Medium high carbonation helps with the body, that might have otherwise felt stodgy. Dry, mildly tart. There's a lovely minerality to it reminiscent of Lambrusco. Well made.

Bottle. Edition 2022 with Kekfrankos grapes. Color: Pinkish red, pink head. Aroma: Grapes, vinuous, subtle funk and wood. Taste: Moderate to over moderate sweet, moderate tart. Subtle barnyard funk. Red grapes, vinuous, some grape seed. Fruity and wry bitterness at the long lasting finish. Dry going to very dry mouthfeel, notes of oak wood. Medium body, below average carbonation. In between beer and red wine. Very nice.
