330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours black with small beige head, modest retention. Aroma is sweet and light roasted malts, coffee. Taste of roasted malts, caramel, coffee, chocolate but quite sweet. Crisp finish. Light to moderate body, fairly refreshing for a dark beer but makes sense for a lager. Enjoyable flavoursome refreshing lager.

330ml bottle from Monster and Beer, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Poured a clear black colour with a short-lived, fizzy tan head. The aroma is light roasty malt, light smoke, ashtray. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a light sweet caramel, light ashtray, hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation. After the initial fizz, there was zero carbonation which is odd for a black lager. Not much going on flavour wise either after the carbonation dried up. This is a poor beer, but one of the better beers from Monteiths which I guess says it all.

200ml pours brown with tan edges but only a hint of grey head.  Nose has malt, toast, some cola, marzipan.  Flavor follows, chewy malts and grains, toast, marzipan, cola.  Finishes dry.  Good house beer.  7 2 7 3 12
