We craft this much like a sculptor who uses only a hammer and chisel to shape stone into a masterpiece. Hoppe is spawned of these few essentials: barley, wheat, hops, yeast and water. This limited palette is an exercise in minimalism, with refined elements which are deliberately selected. This simple combination creates a golden shimmering brew infused with delicate aromas. The artful nature of this beer is exposed with the first taste. As the malt and hops created a composition of flavors, and elegant finish leaves an impression that your tastes will not soon forget. Don’t be deceived by the innocence of Hoppe. Please enjoy in moderation.

Bottle thanks to ilovedarkbeer. Pours with a large white head and a clear golden body with good lacing. Aroma of margarine, citrus, yeast and pepper. Taste is sweet hops, fruit, melon, and citrus. Light bubbles and slightly creamy mouthfeel.

Big thanks to sebletitje for bringing this along. Pours deep gold with thin off white head. The aroma is moderate with some grapefruit, malts, grains and a touch of hay. The taste starts with a nice full mouth feel ushering in solid malty sweetness and tart grapefruit hops. These fresh tasty notes carry through to the finish where grainy malts show up to go along with persistent grapefruit hop bitterness. Very nice.

courtesy of BA trader. Pours golden with white head. Aroma hoppy and a very sweet sugary nose. Taste, hoppy but with a nice sweetness. Caramel malts, yeasty -dough- with a thick grainy palate. Reminded me a lot of a good Belgian strong ale. Well balanced, did not get too much of the bitterness of the hops. A really fine and enjoyable beer.

bottle - note: the bottle indicates an abv of 10%. Pours copper and mostly clear with a thin white head. It smells of caramel malt and fruity hops. The flavor is definitely on the hop side and tastes more bitter than the 33 IBUs listed on the bottle. It’s a good bitter. The bready, caramel accented malt is on the light side and could maybe be a little stronger for balance. The alcohol is mainly noticeable in the finish. Overall it’s a good, flavorful brew.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a diminished white head. Aroma is mild spiced and dry wheaty with a light acidic note. Sweet caramel malty with a slowly arrising bitterness. Quite hoppy and nicely bittered to the wheaty base flavour. Mild fruity and quite dry into the far finish.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of tertons. Pours a clear deep golden with a dense and stable off-white head - shaving foam style - leaving laces. Fresh and citrusy hop aroma. Quite full-bodied with a distinctly sweet malt base, spicy hop accents and a somewhat astringently bitter finish. 131108

Bottle. Amber beer with a thin off-white head. Great resiny, grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit, pine, caramel flavor. Body doesn’t keep up with the flavor - just a little too light. Resin and grapefruit linger with a bit of caramel. A bit of grass starts to show up in the background.

Bouteille 650ml, courtoisie de Hogtownharry. De couleur ambrée-dorée et voilée. Nez de houblon résineux, citrique (pamplemousse) et aux notes herbeuses, fruité (abricots et agrumes sucrés), moyen de caramel sucré, léger de céréales et d’alcool ainsi que des notes de pain et de biscuits. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture légèrement crémeuse et résineuse. Goût amer de houblon citrique, résineux et aux notes florales (une amertume présente toute la gorgée) accompagné d’un goût fruité sucré (agrumes et abricots) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût de grains de malt pâle sucré, moyen de biscuits au miel, léger de pain et avec des notes de caramel sucré. Parallèlement, l’on retrouve un goût d’alcool réchauffant jusqu’en finale, où l’on assiste à un regain d’amertume asséchante plus herbeuse (notes de thé) ainsi qu’à la présence d’un léger goût épicé (poivre doux). Post-goût long et moyen-sec, plutôt amer de houblon citrique, résineux, moyennement herbeux et légèrement floral avec un goût fruité (zest d’agrumes, pelures d’abricots) et un léger goût d’alcool.

Pale orange-amber beer with small, off-white head. Wet dog, rainwater, faint flowery, hops, and a faint brandy aroma. Sweetish, but with a hoppy flavour; stale cookies in the background. Medium bodied, alcohol obvious. Quite neutral beer. Good balance, but that being the best that I can state about it. The wheat keeps hidden. Thanks, CK!
