Unser leuchtend goldgelbes Engel Gold begeistert durch seinen kräftigen Malzkörper und eine angenehme Bittere. Der Geschmack dieses exzellenten Bieres wird durch eine leichte Süße unterlegt.

500 ml screwcap bottle, from the Poetzsch border shop near Kruså / Flensburg. ABV is 5.4%. Unlike Danish "Guldøl", which at least tends to have some flavour, the fairly new German style "Gold" appears to have been created as a response to the threat of Budweiser and other tasteless foreign crap to the German beer market. Crystal clear pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Weak grainy aroma, som sweetish malts in the background. Sweet flavour, sweeter than other Golds I’ve had, some malts are around here, so I guess some flavour is better than none. Minimal bitterness. Not something I’ll buy again.

0,5 l. bottle. Usual yellow/golden lagercolor with small white head. Smells sweet. Taste of grass and grain. Light sweet malts with caramel and perhaps of citrus too (?) Somewhat watered down - not a complex brew. Drinkable but not anything special.

bottle. clear dark yellow, small white head. flowery, citrussy sort of almost sourish aroma. what sweetness i get in the aroma is sort of sugarish. Can’t help but think this is a pretty bad macro lager. Flavor is very sweet, dry, sweetness is cheap macro sweetness, reminds me of yea’ cheap premium lager. Reminds me of years ago, travelling to southern europe and drinking whatever they have that is strong. At least the flavor in this one is not weak or watery. it’s just not tasty.
