Crisp Fizz - Cider Tripel is a clear tripel in which the flavour and aroma of apple are recognised. The flavour of the beer also remains clear: characteristic of tripels, you immediately experience esters, a slight maltiness and the soft fruitiness of banana.
The brewers did not add any dry-hopping or hop spice notes so that the flavour of the cider comes into its own.
In short, Crisp Fizz is a successful match between beer and cider, where the beer is supported by the cider’s nice characteristics. Crisp Fizz has the slightly sour character of cider, finished with a sparkling, fresh finish.

Bottle at home. Slightly unclear golden color, small white head. Aroma and flavor are lightly malts, sweetish notes with soft tart, grape peel. Quite balanced, not bad.

330ml bottle, surprise final (not final) beer @ Tim's place in Gent. Unclear golden appearance with a mousy white triple head. Not convinced this is a combination that goes well together unfortunately (athough I sense Topa's version was more successful with their bittersharp basque cider). Creamy triple yeast seems jarring alongside the sweet Ruwet cider which isn't welcome one bit. Nope.

Sehr starke Karbonisierung. Trocken herber Beginn, apfelig, wenig kräutrig, bitter zum Ende. Komisch. 9/7/8/7/8/7

Bottle from the brewpub.
A: clear orange, big, collapsing, foamy, white head.
A: ripe yellow apple, pear, white sugar, cake, 'Betterfood' (oddly enough).
T: sweet apple & pear, sourish citrus, green apple & wheat.
F: floral hops, bitter apple peel, sour cider.
P: medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
Pleasant enough in a refreshing way but not very complex.

Hazy pale yellow colour with massive fluffy head. Very yeasty. Old cupboard. Enough apple taste. Combines well with Tripel

Hazy golden colour, white foam. Lively (too much) carbonation. Nose of green apples, apple juice, malty hints, some banana and coriander. Sweet, fruity, light tart.

Clear golden yellow beer with a white head. Aroma of mid sweet strong pale malt, belgian yeast, some herbs. Taste of belgian yeast, grapes, herbal wheat malt, moderate bitterness, moderate carbonation.

Strange dry beginning. Easy to drink, sweetish sticky, fruity parts with some dry sticky yeast. Dusty aftertaste, a bit grainy, strange.

(Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 18 Oct 2023) Hazy golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, candy sugar and spices. Fruity, malty taste with dried fruit, candy sugar, tropical fruit, green apples and a gentle spicy bitterness. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Interesting and quite refreshing. Quite nice.
