Small dark brown head. Opaque black body. Sweet oaked cocoa aroma with vanilla caramel notes. Dryish sherry cocoa taste with oaked alcohol notes and some hops. Dry sherry and cocoa aftertaste. Very, very nice. (0.1l taster draft at EBF ’08.)

Thanks to Maria... hope to meet to at Copenhagen 08 Deep black thin lacing ... smooth silky chocoalte nose ... deep well fired but not burnt roast ... quite a bit of coffee and a little alcohol ... little tobacco... just a little bitterness with a hint of burnt malts in the linger.

Coffee and bitter roasted malt in the aroma. Black with a medium palate. A little thick. Simple but good. Thanks to Akevitt for sharing this rare beer.

aroma :i get too much alc. and aged beer for my taste. App: black. Blocks out the sun 100% when i try to look through my glass. nice thick light-brown head, taste : nuts, roasted stuff, coffee , good aftertaste, sweet notes, too much alc. burn , sort of feels like chilli. Taste improved as it got warmer, still the alc. burn though. Overall a stout with no major problems, but still not worthy of being called a damn good beer.

Bottle. It pours a delicious, black body with a nice, tan head. Just the way I want my stouts to be. Roasted nose with chocolate, coffee and a pleasant hoppy aroma. Really nice. The flavor is much the same, with more emphasis on the hops, giving a nice bitterness. There’s also that coffee-like bitterness from the roasted malt. Full-bodied and quite dry, not much room for sweetness here. Roasted and burnt lasting finish. Easy to drink and really pleasant, suited both for downing a few at a slow pace, or just enjoying one at the end of the night. (080314)

Bottled. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, licorice, vanilla, wood, caramel and some chocolateish notes. Flavuru is very much the same along with really big time smoke. Alcohol gives a nice warming completement to the brew.

Bottled (BB 10/2008)
Dark brown color, opaque, small expresso head. Coffeish, toasted aroma. Milk chocolaty, toasted flavor with tickling alcohol. Medium to full-bodied. Very "clean", coffee liquerish and greatly drinkable.

Bottled. A black beer with a slight brown shine under a huge dark chocolate brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, and coffee - medium roasted. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of chocolate and medium notes of cocoa, coffee, and roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted finish with a slight coffee acidity and a whiff of grapefruity hop note lingering. The alcohol is felt in the mouth and tickles the tongue lightly.
