RBG is a special old ale that spent 19 months in small format Red Ryder barrels from our friends at Rock Filter Distillery. We then blended some of those barrels into a Bulleit rye barrel for another 14 months. The result of this English themed rye old ale is layers of gentle baking spices, warm caramel, medjool dates, fresh oak, and cinnamon sugar swirled raisin bread. Bottle. Deep brown color with almost no head. Aroma is big rye barrel, some booze, raisins, caramel. Taste is the same, good raisins and rye, warming finish. Oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Good!

MBCC. Almost black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt, chocolate and heavy bourbon. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish with heavy alcohol. Oily. 050523
