German-Style Pilsner
A style we greatly admire, the German Pils is a masterclass in balance. Utilizing a mix of Hallertau Mittelfruh and Saphir for that quintessential noble hop bent, Jakobus is supported by a cracker-like malt character. Light bitterness, lemon, and floral notes finish with a crisp, clean mouthfeel.

On tap at Schilling, pours a clear golden blonde with a medium white head. Aroma has plenty of grassy hops, straw, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is bright, with crisp grassy hops, moderate bitterness, finishing crisp and dry. Very good.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: clear yellow color with a three finger head which dissipated at a nice pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: mixed citrusy to floral hops with a light hop spice intertwining nicely, light bready to crackery malts
Flavor: leads with a slight hop spicy tone then seems to mesh better with more sips to become a nice malty bready to floral arrangement and subtle bitterness underneath; finishes crisp with a touch of floral sweet
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable; great smoothness without anything distracting the flow; good carb
Overall: nicely done German pilsener worthwhile of having again.

From Good Times Oakland, canned April 9th 2025.
It pours a clear very pale gold with a finger of foam on a hard pour. Foam shrinks quickly leaving behind some lacing.
The smell is grassy hops, citrus, bread, cracker malt. Little bit of spice with the hops.
Taste is spicy grassy hops, some citrus, bread and cracker malt. It's got a sweet/bitter thing going on. Very nice.
Good medium light body, I would drink this again.

Pretty solid! Clean with nice hallertauer hops coming through in the nose and flavor, nice medium bitterness. Crisp and semi-dry. Clear golden color, it ticks all the boxes for a good pils, so I'm happy.
