Draft @ Pint BBF 2007. Best of the festival imho. Like more of the bockbeers from this brewery at that time it was very German oriented, not too sweet with solid bitterness. According to the brewer due to the proximity of the brewery to Germany.

Cloudy dark amber color; thin creamy head. The aroma is light, with sweet caramel and meaty. The body strength is average, with sweet caramel flavor and too much cereals; maybe even a vegetables touch. Question mark.

(Bottle 30 cl) Courtesy of jbrus. Slightly hazy orangey golden with a small, dense, beige head. Aroma of burned caramel. Quite full-bodied with notes of burned caramel and sweetish, roasted malt. Dry and lightly burned finish. Lovely. 310807

Bottle (bierkoning, bedankt !): Hazy, reddish amber coloured, stable, thin egg-shell head; sweet caramelly nose, hints of toasted malt and molasses, a bit fruity/vinous, too; medium bodied, sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; warming, a bit brandy-like finish with some tart yeasty undertones. Not bad, not my favourite................

(bottle, courtesy of bierkoning – thanks !) Dark and hazy ruby red colour with a mid-sized foamy beige head. Dusty and yeasty nose with fruits (dried prunes, cranberries) and caramel. Sweetbitter flavour, medium bodied, lively carbonated. Initially moderately sweet malty taste with a dense roasted touch, caramel and a fruity tinge. Yeasty and malty, slightly bitter and tart finish, which is not very round. All in all still okay.

Cloudy brown color, short brown head. Aroma of caramel malt. Same taste, bit sour. Quite yeasty. Not impressive.
