Sampled from 0.5 l bottle from local ’trinkgut’, best before August 2017. Clear, very dark reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, bready and a bit grassy-spicy aroma of caramel, nuts, dark honey and hints of marzipan. Quite sweet, malty, slightly bready taste of caramel, nuts, dark honey and some marzipan, followed by a short, slightly bitter, minimally grassy-spicy and finish with a touch of cardboard. Almost medium-bodied, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

50cl bottle pours clear perfect deep amber with weak 10 second off white head (I think, it vanished too quick). The modest aroma offers up mostly roasted malts and then a faint sort of earthy hop sensation. The taste is a little spicy with hops and a little tart to sour with maybe too much age, maybe. This is a winter beer and winter has just started so maybe this is how it is supposed to taste. Amid the roasted malts and sort of off notes is a thin layer of dark fruity esters that are kind of muted notes of prunes and raisins.
