Trooper Progressive Lager

Tap at crew. Clear golden, white lace. Light hayish malt, chewy grain, straw in the nose, light perfumed and grassy hop notes retronasal. Little resistance, but seems a lot more pleasant than other Trooper iterations I tried in the past.

Golden colour with lasting head. Plenty of malt sweetness. Quite biscuity. Full mouthfeel, especially for a lager. Well rounded bitterness. Good job.

Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate biter finish. Oily palate.

50cl can. A clear deep golden beer with a white head. Aroma of dry moderate citrusy hops, hints of resins, biscuit malt. Taste of biscuit and caramelized malt, hints of resinous hops, moderate bitterness. Easy to drink!

Schöne, trübe Farbe. Schaumentwicklung mau. Hopfig, fruchtig, aromatisch in der Nase. Schöne, eindeutig kaltgehopfte Hopfennote beim Trinken. Nicht zu extrem, nicht zu bitter, aber schön aromatisch. Fruchtig, leicht getreidig, leicht harzig. Weiche, sämige Konsistenz. Auch wenn ich musikalisch niemals ins progressive Lager wechseln werde, beim Bier kann ich geschmacklich diesem so genannten „Progressiv Lager“ durchaus viel abgewinnen. Wobei ich bei einem Iron Maien Bier eher ein kräftiges englisches Red Ale als repräsentativ sehen würde. Trotzdem: Ganz klar eines der besseren „music band related beers“. 0,5 l can from Aldi Nord. 4-Pack for 4,49 €. Cloudy golden in the glass, one finger white head. Intensive citrus hop and resin on the nose. Taste starts also with citrus hop, resin, increasing malt and smooth grainy, balanced. Below average carbonated. Not bad.
