Bottle @ home. Nice golden colour, white head. Aroma of grain, flowers, sweet fruits. Taste is soft, fruity, some anis, a bit sweet with a balancing soft bitterness. Slightly metallic. Highly drinkable.

Bottled (BB 02/2009)
Courtesy of bierkoning, ty Edo! Golden color, small white head, lace. Strong aroma of anise and herbs. Sweetish malty, a bit papery flavor, which is dominated by anise. Also herbal hints - propably from coriander. Quite unique, but not really enjoyable as a bock.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is anis, spices, coriander, malts and white bread. Flavour is spicy, yeasty, white bready with strong focus on malts, milder on hops. Wellbalanced brew.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Nice citrus notes. Heavy bitter flavor with licorice-notes (from the anis). Heavy bitter long finish. Oily palate. Nice brew.

Test vom 13.8.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,9,8,8,12,8 - 8,35

Golden colour, white lasting head. Spicy aroma. Light malty, anise, fresh. Alcohol cut through flavors, not disturbing. Nice spring bock.

Slightly darker in appearance than a pilsener. Mild, pleasant aroma which is slightly sweet and alcoholic. Aniseed also comes through in the aroma. The aniseed becomes quite a dominant flavour and has a slightly tongue numbing effect. It’s technically good but I’m no fan of aniseed at the best of times, never mind in beer!

Bottled. A golden beer with a huge light orange head. The aroma is sweet spicy with notes of berries, hops, and citrus. The flavor is malty with artificial notes of berries, leading to a dry and lightly bitter end. Boring.

(Bottle 30 cl) Clear, deep golden with a dense, white head. Odd, spicy aroma. Medium body with some sweet malt and then again these odd, spicy accents - sort of like Bassets Licorice Allsorts. Not entirely pleasant. Courtesy of jbrus. 040307

Small white head, pale orange, clear beer. Orange, kumquat, Mandarine Napoléon, sherry - very nice nose, actually, and a bit cheesy (guess oxydation). Very sweet, taste, some citrus, but more amandine/roasewater or frangipane. A bit too sweet, still liqueurish, enhanced by the heavy spicing. Finish is rather empty. Very slick MF, slightly oily and bit watery. Great nose, but the rest is not really following. Tasted a bit after the BBd. As this beer is meant to be drunk very fresh, it will be shortly retasted in a young version. New version ’07, fresh: Much less (!) pleasing aroma, overwhelmed by coriander and another spice - aniseed, no doubt. Taste is sweet, but the perfumey franchipane-like flavours are held in check better. Some caramel(malts) are obvious. The spices are better blended in the taste, but only when the beer is drunk cold. Warming up, it becomes a shambles of spices. Moral: I prefer the aged one...
