Medium offwhite head. Pretty brown body. Roasty bready malty aroma with earthy notes. Dry roasty caramelly taste with buttery notes. Faint sweetness. A bit watery. Dry roasty straw aftertaste with light acidity and some paper notes. It’s OK. (0.5l bottle from gr0ve.)

(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 24 Sep 2008) Ruby red colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dark fruit, wild berries, apricots, caramel and a hint of smoke. Malty, fruity, slightly toasty taste with dark fruit, caramel, ryvita and a dry finish with a moderate, spicy bitterness. Well balanced and tasty.

draft at 3 Alley in Seoul - They called the beer Rhenania Brown. I’m going to assume it’s this one and not the Krefelder which only two people have rated. The beer was a medium brown color with a one finger white head. It was light to medium bodied with a sweet malt flavor, some mild bitterness, and a touch of nut. Not bad.

Bottled, thanks jeverszeuge! Clear copper colour, minimal head. Roasty earthy aroma. Medium sweet with clean mouthfeel. Salty and earthy, fairly light bodied. Salty bitterish finish. Not as deep as the real altbiers from cask, but still with a good amount of flavour.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly roasted and malty with a hint of fruit. The flavour is very dry and roasted with a long dry finish. Overall an average dry/malty beer.
