Cask at the Watford Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear copper with a rocky white head. Aroma of apple juice, candy sugar and more apple juice! Cinnamon flavours with some brown sugar and... apple juice... Finish was malty with cooked apples and grass. Weird and probably not altogether right...

(Cask at Black Door, 20120817) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was small, white and dense. Aroma had sweetness, green apples and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, green apples, tartness and low bitterness. Aftertaste was raw and bitter. Either the cask had gone off or the beer is just bed.

Bottle. A bit, off-white head forms over a clear, dark golden body. Rather fruity nose with a touch of old garbage in the far back. Caramel and biscuits too. Quite fruity flavor, with some fruity sourness. Maltyness in the back. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Some bitterness in the finish. Well, sure a decent beer, but I can’t imagine myself drinking more of it. 120720
