A dark and heavy ale - the strongest that the brewery has ever produced - in which three varieties of malt and two spices are utilised. It is brewed "in honour of" the Burgundian Babble Belt, a well known web-site on the Internet, where beer lovers can exchange all sorts of information.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Cafe Thembi, Maastricht, 20130603) The beer poured reddish brown and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, chcolate and caramell. Palate was medium bodied and warming with a lot of carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, chocolate, caramell, dried plum and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and malty. Alcohol was a bit too much present but the otherwise the beer was pretty good and balanced.

Bottle of 4 years old. Cloudy orange colour. Minimal head. Sweet nose. Notes of honey, raisins, stone fruit. Nice balance between sweet and bitter. Warm alcoholic finish. This beer was very good and it aged very well. It’s a pity they don’t brew it anymore.

Pour is a murky brown with a small tan head. Aroma is brown sugar, spice and toffee. Flavor is a nice heavy molasses with some dark fruit and spice. Spice lingers on the tounge after the swallow. This was tasty and probably the spicest Belgian beer I’ve had in a while. The 12% was not to be found.

330ml bottle bought at Bacchus Cornelius in Brugge more than a year ago. Pours brown muddy waters. Beige head, spotty lacing. Sweet brown caramel malts to the nose. The flavour is made up by sweet spiced malts, dried fruity notes and sugar. Sweet ending with alcohol warmth. Full bodied. Ok, a bit unvaried, though. Shared with Finn (Tromsø, 21.06.2012).

Bottle at home, shared with DutchDrebus. Nice amber colored beer. Decent smell, nice taste even though the high ABV.

20/04/2011 33cl bottle @ home - BB: not indicated (2011-158)

Red to amber coloured beer, light beige to yellow head, much like a soda head: lots of big bubbles first, then quickly falls down to just a small layer on the beer. Lots of small particles floating around. Aroma: caramel, grapefruit, dried fruits. MF: light carbon, full body. Taste: very sweet at first: sweet malts, candi sugar, very fruity, grenadine, but then it gets a bit more bitter with hints of grapefruits and citrus acidity coming through and partly balancing the sweetness. Aftertaste: some bitterness and citrus, but also raisins and still some sugar. It's not a cloying beer, but still pretty sweet.
