Et mørkt tradisjonelt gårdsøl brygget for høytidene ved norske gårdsbruk. Delikat røykpreg, balansert bitthert og dyp sjokoladesmak. Nissefar er for oss, definisjonen av et norsk juleøl.

After the pour, the beer started cascading like Guinness and had a very fine creamy small tan head with no lace. Color is an opaque brownish black with red highlights. Aroma is excellent with roast malt cocoa coffee pine fruit eucalyptus. Flavor doesn’t have quite so much going on but similar and still very good. Body is good. Finish is like flavor.
Update from an aged bottle. Done very well. Perfect sweet to bitter with excellent carbonation. Just right spiciness, very drinkable. And they have more.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Thick creamy head. Coffee and pure chocolate in the aroma. Pure chocolate, licorice and cinnamon in the flavor. Hints of plum. Tasty and good looking stout-like beer.

0.5 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', best before October 2020, cellared for almost a year. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, quite dense, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, fruity-spicy and even a little vinous aroma of caramel, tangerine, bergamot and raisins. Sweetish-malty, quite fruity, a little spicy taste of caramel, nuts, tangerine, bergamot, licorice and some chocolate, followed by a short, moderately bitter, gently roasty finish. Medium body, very smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very well-crafted beer, just a bit too fruity for my liking, maybe lacks a bit of complexity for such a high abv as well. Other than that, it's a really pleasant beverage suited for the holidays season, quite different to many other beers labeled with 'Christmas' or 'Winter'.
