Dark brown, beige head. Aroma of brown bread crust, dark cake, and, after warming, a touch of raisins. Balanced towards sweetness, dark chocolate, and dark bread, versus a distinct bitterness. Quite full-bodied for an 18-pound beer. Relatively high carbonation. Occasionally, a slight warming sensation is felt in the throat; the beer itself doesn't convey any alcoholic sensation at all.

Bottle, 8.5%. Good liquorice aroma. Almost black colour, red shine, seems clear. Good stable light brown head. The flavour has dark caramel, molasses, semi-sweet liquorice. Light mouthfeel for the ABV. Toasted black bread aftertaste.

--Bottled at Haket, Gothenburh H. -- Dark brown, small head. Aroma of licorice and treacle. Mid sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Licorice, tobacco, toffee and molasses, some coffee. Mid bitter finish.
