Traditional IPA (not USA style). Our best seller, this bottle conditioned, hopped IPA is intensely floral, with wine-like tannin and hop resins to the fore. However, allowed to ‘age’ and the tannin will almost disappear with the floral hop being replaced by a more subtle spicy character. Natural carbonation will develop and the beer will pour with a champagne like sparkle.

Looks nicely golden, small head. Simple malt aroma. Taste has some strong bread at first, filling the entire mouth with nice malt flavours. Some fragrant hops follow and the sensation ends in a short and soft malt. This one is a good example of a British IPA, lenient hops, bread malt base, some fruits. This drink is session able, suitable for easy drinking. Not as hoppy as I like the best - but definitely not bad either.

Bottle @ You’ll Never Walk Alone in Kolding. Pours clear golden with stable white head. Clear aroma of hops, flower and fruit. Subtly bitter and floral flavour of hops with grassy touches. Nice, bitter aftertaste. OK

Fra fat på Bartof, sammen med gode venner og en sjarmerende singer/songwriter fra New York: akkurat denne halvliteren bidro ikke til å løfte den gode stemningen. Adekvat, men ikke mer. Kanske like greit, siden det var musikken som var i fokus.

Aroma is hoppy with toffee, some citrus, nuts, hints of hay and floral notes. Flavour is sweetish and hoppy with citrus, some orange, floral notes and toffee. Refreshing and good.

(Cask at Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival ’13) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had sweetness and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A nice example of an English IPA. Aftertaste was too dry.

Bottle. Clear gold with a modest white head. Citric and floral aroma with a touch of boiled sweet. Bitter citrus, boiled sweets, peaches, herbs. OK hop aromas, nice bitterness, but has neither the clean modern touch nor English malt character.

04/05 0.5 l bottle ogivlado brought from Slovakia, thanks for sharing! It poured golden body with medium sized head. Sweetish, dusty and only a bit herbal hoppy. Flavor is cleaner, decent bitter herbal hoppy combined with weak malty notes, yet quite watery. With its thinner body finish was surely short, but it showed slight fruitiness in addition to raw herbal notes. Nothing close to IPA of course, but it’s an average boring British bitter.
