Orange amber color. Strange smell, cardboard. Sweetish, with nothing else to say.

Re-rate December 2002, bottled: Nut brown. Butterscotchy and fruity nose. Sweet and near full bodied, really malty with notes of plums and pepper. A solid traditional christmas bock with pleasant salty, really bitter finish.
Old (2001) rating: A dark brown christmas bock. Lots of malt, but syrupy sweet. Toffee and plum flavours. Medium bitterness. I usually don't like my lagers this sweet, but in this case I find it OK. (6/3/5/3/12)

Quite sweet, somewhat roasty flavour. The alcohol stings you in the back of the mouth.
