Bottle at home. One year old. The colour is hazy and brown with a medium, beige head. A sweet aroma with chocolate, dried fruit and some spices, especially coriander. The flavour is more sweet with wood, heather, anise and leather. Has a rich and slick mouthfeel, and a light bitterness. The spices is probably less pronounced from the aging but is still a solid and sweet ale.

DØE. Dark brown with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, yeast, dark fruits and spices. Flavour is malt, yeast, dark fruits, medium sweet, caramel, spices, candy sugar, little plume and a little bitter.

Bottle, bryg 623. Pours dark, reddish brown, with a small creamy head. Aroma is nice and herby with cloves and anise, as well as caramel and kandi. Body is creamy, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with raisins and dark fruits, sweet coffee and chocolate and a nice and spicy hint of anise.

0.5l bottle. This one pours a deep brown body with a red hue and a mild brown fading head. The aroma has nice spicy tones, lots of sweet caramel, sweet raisin, caramel malts and a licorice-anise spicy hint. Quite complex and not bad. Average carbonation level, full-bodied, warming with a nice rich and oily mouthfeel. Spicy and sweet flavors; lots of caramel and anise, licorice touches blended with milk chocolate and a nutty snickers-like flavors. Nuts and fudge perhaps? Ends really warming with a long and spicy aftertaste. Good stuff!

500 ml bottle 2010, 8% ABV. Clear, dark amber body with a big, foamy off-white head that fades. Aroma is malty with spices, mainly anis and liquorices. Flavor is sweet and soft malty, spicy, a bit fruity, moderate bitter and with a sweet malty aftertaste. Quite OK, maybe just a bit on the sweeter side with some lack of bitterness.

Pours cloudy dark reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of sweet malts, licorice, dark fruits, spices and floral hops. Taste is medium sweet and a light bitter dry finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
