33 cl can @ home, BBE 04/2025 as Lough Gill Barrel Aged Series 2022 #1 Aroma has licorice, some soy sauce and whisky tones. Flavour has licorice, whiskey, some peaty notes. Perhaps soy sauce too. The whisky is a bit too stingy here - and too dominant on the flavour side. Otherwise good.

Can from Gpurmet Haus. Pours black with deep brown head that disappears quickly. Barrel and chocolate marry nicely on aroma. Flavor is fuller with alcohol, chocolate and slight roast.

A black beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has liquorice, some sweet berries, hint of whiskey and wood. Taste has liquorice, roastiness, peat, wood. Almost full bodied. The barreling is balanced.

Dark borwn colour, tiny head. Caramell, glue, whiskey and booze in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Quite thin for its abv. Caramel, touch of vanilla and chocolate, dash of whiskey, overall boozy... needs more malts to the backbone.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Very dark brown, small tan head. Rich aroma of oaky whiskey and chocolate. Mid sweet with medium to full body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate mud cake, figs and potent whiskey. Intensely warming oaky finish.

Sample (as Lough Gill Spear 2022 Imperial Oatmeal Stout, thanks fonefan!). Deep brownish black colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, nectary and dried fruits with some alcohol and mild spices. Flavour is whiskey, some chocolate, mild dried fruits, alcohol, spices and some toffeeish tones. Surprisingly smooth for 13 % abv.

ABV: 13.0%. Clear dark dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, whisky, dried fruit, dark fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, roasted - dark malt, chocolate, barrel, dried fruit, dark fruit, whisky. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20230318]
