Thick, decadent, sweet and inspired by a dessert - everything a pastry stout should be, surely? That's definitely what we came to the conclusion of when we got our heads together with our long-term friends at Alchemik, from Sofia, Bulgaria.
We've played around with some of our favourite adjuncts; Vanilla, Coffee, Marshmallow, Cacao and Lactose to create something that will really put a smile on your face, and help you get through these cold, dark winter months.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Black with small brown head. Artificial nose with various types of sugar. Ridiculously sweet with full body and clean, yet sticky mouthfeel. Syrup, saccharine, honey and cloying vanilla. Artificial sweetener burns in the sticky finish. Pure awful.

Can, 10.5%.. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, cake, vanilla and dark fruit. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, cake, vanilla, sweet, sticky, marshmallow, lacto and a little bitter.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is sweet malts, liquorice, chocolate, roast and some ashes. Flavour is liquorice, chocolate, syrup, mild sweet malts and some alcohol with coffee and marshmallow.

ABV: 10.5%. Clear dark black brown colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark malt, roasted, molasses, chocolate, coffee, marshmallow, cocoa, vanilla, rich. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, marshmallow, coffee, cocoa, molasses, chocolatw, vanilla, malt - chocolate - coffee bitter, rich, heavy. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20230305]

Can from Eltham Wines. Black pour with a tan head. Nose is dark chocolate, coffee, marshmallow, sweet tobacco, toffee, coconut. Taste is sweet coffee, raisin, chocolate ice cream, cocoa, coconut, sweet tobacco. Warming alcohol action. Rich uber sweet enamel endangering finish.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingman, 11/02/23. Black with a tan head that dissipates edgewards. Nose is dark malts, tangy dark fruit rinds, vinous notes, dark chocolate, light spice. Taste comprises sweet malts, jammy berry fruits, light spice, chocolate pot, Turkish Delight, light perfume. Full bodied, oily viscous feel, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Decent enough pastry affair if a touch 1D for my liking.

Panda 🐼 at home big thanks to Wingman. A thicc oily back brown coloured pour with halo of dark tan head. aroma is sticky jammy berries, blackberry, cherry, coco, sticky brown sugars. Flavour is composed, sticky brown sugars, maple, raspberry, ripple, Palate is oily, sticky, brown sugars, Palate is sticky brown sugars.
