The first mention of a Triple beer comes from Westmalle, a monastery in Belgium, over half a century ago. The Westmalle Abbey forms part of the Order of the Cistercians of the Strict Observance. Members of this community live by the 'Ora et Labora' (Latin for work and pray) principle. As such, the Monks have been brewing Westmalle Trappist Ales since 1836 in addition to producing cheese.

Triple is a strong ale with a bright golden appearance. The name ‘triple’ is sometimes said to refer to having 3 portions of malt to generate an extra strong beer.

Our interpretation of this Belgian classic is even more powerful, as we boosted it with a very tasteful natural ingredient from our backyard.

Tale 7 or Golden Tale is a strong triple ale, top-fermented as are all our beers, and spiced up with fresh ginger to create an extra body. Much of its flavours are derived from the complex interplay between the wort and the unique yeast used in the fermentation process.

Clear golden beer with a white head. Aroma of mild ginger, herbal malt, farmhouse yeast. Taste of sweet strong malt, ginger, herbs, sharp finish.

Small rim over clear golden beer. Ginger, nutmeg, chipolata sausages. Ginger, rosewater, rosepetals, hints at other rootspices. Soft drinks' carbonation, springwater, light - even for an attenuated tripel. Bit sweet, but somehow it's nowhere bad. Just don't think of Westmalle.
