Clear dark golden beer with a big off white head. Aroma of floral and spicy hops, pale malt. Taste of dry floral and grassy hops, pale malt, hay. Moderate to long bitter finish.

500ml bottle. Minimally milky, orange, golden colour with average to huge, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, minimally bready, spicy and biscuity, pale malty as well as mildly grassy and slightly citrusy fruity, hoppy and minimally yeasty fruity aroma, hints of mandarine, a touch of mirabelle. Taste is sweet-ish, spicy, pale malty and moderately bitter, earthy grassy and slightly fruity, minimally herbal-leafy hoppy, hints of mandarine, a touch of thistle. Slightly oily, watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Clean, nice balance between earthy and fruity hop flavours, well matching malty backbone - pretty decent.

StreuBräu Frängischer Doppelhopf, Flasche von den Getränkerittern. - Kein Doppelbock sondern ein Doppelhopf, also sehr hopfenbetont. - Dunkles Goldgelb, schwach trüb. - In der Nase feine exotisch-zitrusfruchtige Hopfenaromen, blaß zwar aber interessant genug: Pampelmuse, kandierte Orange. - Antrunk schlank und kernig zitrusfruchtig-hopfenherb mit bitterer Pampelmuse. Sauberes helles Malz bildet die (deutlich untergärige) Grundlage, auf der die elegante Hopfung sich ungestört durch obergärige Fruchtigkeit entfalten kann. Milder rezent, schlank, leicht trocken. Im Abgang feine, dennoch knackige Hopfenbittere. - Sehr schönes hopfenbetontes Lagerbier, knackig hopfenherb und doch von klassischer Rundheit, frei von krasser oder derber Bittere. Nachahmenswert!
