Fruit Extravaganza 21, 22, Gueuzerie Tilquin, 7, 4, 8, 3, 15, 3.7, On tap @RLRL. Mostly clear, dark raspberry, frothy pour. Cider vinegar, plum & picquet wine nose. Sour, odd soft funk, earthy, sharp fruit skin, something like concord grape. Half way pedestrian. Not enough sour to balance the fruit, but it's nicely tannic, sessionable & plenty tasty. , 6/2/2023 3:50:45 AM, Belgium, Walloon Brabant, Rebecq-Rognon, Lambic - Flavored

Tap at FFB20, shared with the crew. I only took numerical notes while having this one.

On tap at Dynamo, pours a deep dark mahogany with a medium pink head. Aroma brings out floral, elderberry notes and very subdued funk. Flavour is very tart and jammy, with intense, sour elderberries, light earthiness and almost no funk. Jammy, sour berries. Tasty but lacking complexity and depth. Good.

29/IV/23 - on tap @ Tilquin English Beer Fest, BB: n/a (2023-379) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!
Cloudy dark purple to red beer, creamy purple pink head, stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: nice, fruity, blueberry jam, elderberry syrup, cough syrup. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very sour, very intense fruitiness, lovely, lots of elderberries all right, quite a bitter touch. Aftertaste: earthy, bitter, some tannins, very fruity, good one!

On tap at Meddlesome Moth, pours a fairly cloudy dark purple with a small dark pink head. Aroma brings out jammy elderberry, moderate funk, and some vinous oak. Flavour is moderately tart, with acidic elderberries, subdued funk, and some gentle vinegar. The funk is nice but the acidic and acetic character in particular are a bit suboptimal. Good but the bottled Sureau is superior.

Row 34 draught, 11/17/22. Clear deep purple, small ring of purple head. This is the most fruit-forward so far, with juicy, rich elderberry, quite impressed by the relative lack of heavy acid/astringency. Lambic-wise, maybe a little wanting, but it's clean and fruity with mild Brett. Soft, sweet fruit with creeping acidity. Low carbonation concentrating sweetness. Light Brett, moderate, tasteful elderberry. Even if it's not mega-funky and such, these meerts blends are just so phenomenally light, easygoing and drinkable.
Nice jamminess but light finish and funk. Also it's coooooold

(On tap @ Griendel, Quebec City, Sep 29/22) Pours pale purple with a whitish head. Aroma of purple grape and blackberry (which is elderberry I guess!), sweetish malty roundness, quite some wood, smooth funk. Flavour is moderate plus tart, notes of wild red grape, some darker rubus, wild brambles, old hop funk, drying barnboard, moderate tannins. Medium-bodied, nice active carbonation. My favourite of the 21 - 22 series and I will be interested to try Oude Sureau at some point.
