Blik gedeeld door NickvdH. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een volle bruinige schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout en hop. De smaak is vol gebrande mout, koffie, chocolade en hop.

Can drunk in Südtirol while watching joyous updates that the most orange ex-President is under arrest and having thirty criminal charges read to him in a New York court. Dark brown beer, large (not spray on) tan head. Slightly roasted citrus-hoppy nose. Body is a bit slim, American-coffee kind of roasted malt notes, slight pine and much lemony citrus. Pretty (super)high bitterness, balance a bit off with this body and its relatively low-powered hop flavor/aroma.

33cl Blik van De Bierkoning. Bijna zwarte kleur, beige kraag. Koffie, tabak, grapefruit, chocolade, caramel, redelijk zacht allemaal maar alles komt aan bod, degelijk bitter, hoppig. Lichte tot medium body. Prima BIPA.

0.33 l can from 'Beerdome', canned in September 2022. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, moderately fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, blueberry and some tropical fruits. Gently sweet, malty, quite roasty, moderately fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, some blueberry and a touch of tropical fruits, followed by a short, quite roasty-bitter, minimally resiny finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice BIPA, focusing a little more on the malts rather than the hops.

330ml can. Hazy, darkest brown colour with ruby shimmer and average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, minimally smoky and ashy, dark malty as well as grassy, resinous piney, hoppy aroma, notes of mocha, burnt coffee, a touch of dark chocolate. Taste is bitter, resinous, piney hoppy and equally bitter, roasty, minimally smoky, ashy, dark malty, notes of mocha, burnt coffee. Minimally oily, watery texture, very dry, almost a bit pungent palate, medium, prickly to lively carbonation. Very dry, focussed, bitter - good.
