The Bokrijks is a blonde and strong local beer of high fermentation of Brouwerij Sterkens. This blonde, with a nice white head, has a strong fruity aroma and a subtle, mild malty flavor. This refreshing beer has a slightly bitter aftertaste and is brewed with unique ingredients to create the best possible balance between bitter and sweet.

bottle at Volo in Toronto.
very very nice bottle. but i think it was pretty old
pour a dark yellow, next to no head, carbonation is very low, almost gone.
aroma is sweet, with a tad bit of caramel, but a slight hint of sour.
flavour is the same, kinda sour, but not unpleasant. nice sweetness inthe finish.

Smell-weak, Belgian, hops, spice. Foam - thin, bitter, hoppy, Belgian yeast. Head is medium to high, white color. Appearance - unique bottle, generic bottle cap, sealed with the regular cap but re-sealable also. Clear orange-amber weak to medium carbonation. From - pint Taste - bitter, hops, Belgian yeast, spice, herbal. The aftertaste is bitter and a tiny bit unpleasant for me. some acidic and sour notes follow the aftertaste. Something is not working for me here, odd one.

Frothy head, light amber color. Malty, caramelly aroma and flavor with some apricot. Slightly bitter chichorei aftertaste. This stone jug full of beer costed me $ 6,-. It was not worth a second buy.

Probably the most well-known of the Sterkens ’kruikenbieren’ in ceramic bottles, for the Bokrijk open air museum. Moussy, stable, yellowish head, colour peach blonde, almost amber, lightly misty with some protein flakes. Flowery and fruity aroma of orange, pear, caramel, cheese, butter, wheat, coriander, white pepper, honey, cognac. Taste sweet and fruity, malty, hints of gingerbread, but a bit collapsing towards the end with too much astringent alcohol and too little hops for balance. Maybe the bottle I had was just in bad condition, because I suspect this can be a lot better when younger.

750 ml ceramic bottle into tulip glass, best before 7/10/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big peach, apricot, lemon, pear, apple, honey, candi sugar, bread, light clove, light pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big peach, apricot, lemon, pear, apple, white grape, honey, bread, candi sugar, light clove, light pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of peach, apricot, lemon, pear, apple, white grape, honey, candi sugar, bread, light clove, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity of fruity/earthy yeast ester and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and lightly slick/crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome Belgian golden ale. All around great balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and pale malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering.
