Black, small brown head. Nose of roast/sweet chocolate notes. Sweet chewy start, faint coconut mid. Long bitter end from alcohol heat/roast . Lactose notes. Complex as always

12 ounce bottle from Tavour. Bottled on 4/21/22. 14.3% ABV. Jet black pour. Creamy tan cap. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, dark chocolate and coconut. First sip is smooth and creamy on the palate. Then comes the big boozy hit. Big notes of dark chocolate and vanilla. Just a hint of coconut flavor. Some barrel notes. Dark dried fruit as well. Remarkably smooth.

12 oz bottle from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight, transient dark tan head. Aroma of coconut, chocolate, and whiskey. Full bodied. Not dry. Somewhat bitter - like dark chocolate. Flavor is chocolate, coconut, whiskey, dark malt, anise and maybe a bit of wood astringency. Quite complex. Nice flavor.

From a 355ml bottle on 23/3/2023 (ABV listed as 14.3%). Pours close to black with virtually no head. Has a powerful and quite lovely choc coconut nose, with a good whiff of booze. Super intense on the sip - dark chocolate, coconut vanilla and a touch of the promised licorice. Finishes with a quite intense, sharp, roasty, boozy whisky bitterness that works nicely with the sweet stuff up front. Has an oily, syrupy mouthfeel with softish carbonation. Definitely a slow sipper, but an outstanding one.

Black, with a thin dark brown head. Whiskey aroma with lots of chocolate and some coconut. Layers of vanilla, coconut, boozy barrel and chocolate syrup. Fairly rich. Alcohol dries the finish a bit.

Bottle. Black pour with a medium sized tan head that has fair retention. The aroma is understated with coffee, vanilla, mild whiskey, and bittersweet cocoa. The taste is dominated by the coffee with the coconut providing a bit of creamer effect. The palate is full and oily with soft carbonation. Overall: decent--comparable to Speedway. Paired very well with some Gruyere.
