Bottle @ Home. Dark brown, almost black body under a small, dense beige head. Strong and nice aroma of dark malt, dry fruit, hint of wood and warming alcohol. Taste is soft, quite dark malt, dry fruit, hint of dark chocolate, some wood, vinous alcohol and balancing bitterness. Very good balance in taste, body in perfect balance and long-lasting delicious aftertaste. A really nice, tasty beer to sip down slowly.

Bottle 330ml @ home. Pours dark brown almost black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of malt, chocolate, dried fruits, vinous, caramel and oak. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long vinous, dried fruity, oak and light caramel finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with little head. Aromas of vinous oak, chocolate, a bit of grape must, figs, and toasted malts. Flavors of boozy spirits which add spicy notes, vermouth, oak, raisins, a little copper, and toasted malts.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small beige head. Aroma reveals plenty of those red wine barrels, with plenty of oak, tannins, some Belgian yeast, and a touch of red fruit. Flavour is exquisitely balanced, with deep red wine barrels, tannins, wood, a wonderful Belgian yeast expression, and red fruits, with moderate residual sweetness. The barrels work beautifully here. Complex and a wonderful all-round beer.

Tap at Valhalla Beer Club. Brownish, blackish body. BIg aroam, raisins, alcohol, light cocoa, touches of barrel, dry and bitterish as well. Dry taste, raisins, cocoa, some barrel, cellar notes, alcohol shows in force, especially in the finish, as it warms, making it good, but not more.

On tap. Pours an opaque black with a small, light brown head. Lovely complex aroma of overripe fruit and wood - obvious booze. Rich, sweet and plummy, overripe dark fruit. Not an entirely clean barrel aging. Massive booze in the finish. 030423
