Moosehead Pale Ale was our first beer to be branded Moosehead. ‘Moose Red,’ as it is referred to in the Maritimes, has a recipe dating back to 1931 and has a loyal following.
A true top-fermented ale, Moosehead Pale Ale is medium bodied and fermented at warmer temperatures to impart its floral aromatics.

341 ml bottle. Pale golden/yellow body with a thin white head that fades. Light aroma of sweet malt, some fruit and a hint of honey. Flavor is light malty, relatively sweet, soft, some bitterness and the aftertaste feels a bit harsh. Rather boring and too sweet, not in balance.

Bottle. A clear, slightly yellowish, golden beer with a small, white head. Not much pale ale going on here, not much expected. Fruityness and pale malts. The flavor is much the same, more like a premium lager than a pale ale, lacking on most things, at least bitterness. Medium body. Not much interesting going on here. Well, it’s not undrinkable in any way, but it’s super boring. 110406

Bottled from Bierzwerg. Golden color with medium white head. Nice lacing. Malty aroma with hints of spices. Taste, malt, honey, with bittersweet finish. Boring beer.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Pale honeyish golden colour with a small foamy white head. Aroma is bready malts, some slight nectar and honeyish notes as well as some grass and mild herbal notes. Flavour is bready and sweet malts and some slight honeyish and citrusfruity notes. Actually scaringly close to many British golden ales.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Light bitter week flavor. Average light bitter finish. Watery palate. thin and boring.

Well with this pale ale, Moosehead sure puts the "pale" in the ale! Has vague hints of an ale in there but is incredibly watery, very little head, no noticeable aroma. Brownish body. I’ve certainly had better pale ales than this.

Bottled. A golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and straw as well as a touch of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and straw as well as lighter notes of hops, honey, and cardboard.

Bottle 341ml.Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light hoppy, citrus - grass, light cardboard and paper. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090321]
