A deep red beer with small light disappearing head. The aroma is sweet with notes of black currant, cherries, and hints of wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of wood, berries, prunes, the alcohol running over the tongue, and a dry woody end. The body is a little thin, especially considering the 9% ABV.

Red-brown beer, clear. Slightly brown-coloured head, not very copious and fast gone. Rich almondy or marzipan cake aroma; some toffee. Some spice also - maybe rosemary or lavender. Quite nice. Taste: sweet. cake-ish, fruitcake (no pun intended). Some cola flavour too. Mouthfeel: flat. Sweetness remains. Slight sourish finish. This brewery has mastered its aromas. I get the impression they're working on the taste. The palate is for the next five-year plan. Old Walloon communists?
