Draught at KØ18. Metallic and dry liquorice aroma. Black colour. No head. The flavour is very fruity and slightly vinous. Citric fruit note. Does not fit the beer, in my opinion. 535311

April 2014: 500 ml bottle vintage 2014, Cardinal Pub & Bar; Stavanger. Ingredients include fig purée. 8 different malts are used. Hops are Chinook, Simcoe, Amarillo and Coloumbus. ABV is 10.2%. Pitch black colour, large brown head. The aroma has notes of dark malts, tar, woodwork, coffee, liquorice and dark chocolate, hints of dark dried fruits. The flavour is medium sweet, very tarry and roasty, notes of salty liquorice, strong coffee and dark bitter chocolate. Hints of citrussy hops and dark dried fruits. Bitter and salty finish. Powerful stuff!

Bottle 50 cl. Pours an opaque black with a dense and creamy beige head. Vanillaish roast nose. Solid body, but not overwhelmingly so. Smooth and pleasant roastiness, some English licorice and a vanilla touch. Lightly roasty bitterness. A smooth, easy going Imperial Stout. 150223

Bottle 50 cl. Pours thick and syrupy with no head. Some tar in the nose and an odd, fruity tartness. Rich, sweet body, close to flat. Roast, slightly smoky, again with this odd tartness. I believe I can actually pick up the plum juice. It's an odd bird, but the tartness and the lack of carbonation really bothers me. 060219
