500ml bottle. Opalescent, yellow-ish golden colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, and lacing, snow white head. Minimally musty, grainy and strawy, malty aroma, a touch of silage. Taste is strawy and grainy malty, crisp, bitter hoppy with metallic overtones. Minimally oily, watery texture, dry, minimally repellent palate, fine, prickly carbonation. Quite bitter hoppy, really surprising amount of bitterness for a Bavarian Pils, but pure hop bitterness without any hop flavours, some grassy aspects at best, moreover inserted on top of pretty trivial, grainy, strawy, musty, malty layers - deficient.

Gold with a frothy, white head. A subdued aroma of bread and herbs. The hops is more evident in the taste, which is modestly bitter throughout. Finishes with a peppery note. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Drinkable.

Luscious aroma of hops, flowers, pepper and citrus. Hoppy, very much flowery flavor. Thinnish with a hint of cardboard. Swing top bottle.

Weak aroma of malt and herbs. Pale, minimal head, disappears quickly, no lacing. Light bitterness, light sweetness. Beer is rather dry, with light body, oily feel, flat carbonation. Light beer, easy to drink, malty but not sweet, only it lacks some stronger hoppy aroma.

0.5 litre brown flip-top bottle, obtained in Berlin and brought home to review at leasure. Best before 2nd April 09, drank Jan 09. Poured into a UK pint sleeve glass. I was expecting a cloudy Landbier, what sat before me was a Helles or Pilsner in looks. Golden, bright, clear and bubbley with a good white head on top. The large head which greated me tried to stay, but a wispy covering and collar were all that was left at the end. Gets my normal average lager score for smell, there isn’t any as usual for this style. Dry and fairly ordinary. If I had known it was this bland it wouldn’t have been flown back with me. Typical helles with all the normal character you know about. Nothing wrong with the beer, I just feel cheated, my German is obviously not as good as i thought! Pleasant enough for a lager based beer, some body and flavours to almost chew on.
