*rating overgezet 2015* Het is een Goudgeel bier met een medium schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige wat fruitige geur. De smaak is fruitig en wat hoppig in de afdronk.

Aroma of hops, grapes and banana. Sweet and a bit 'soapy'. The taste is a little bit tart. Hopbitterness overwhelmed by a sweet fruitiness. A long sweet and slightly herbal finish. New recipe? 7,2% on the label, 2004 version, 75 cl. Light amber color, sugary orange aroma. Sweet sugary flavor, some hops on the background. Orange, a bit soapy. This seems to be the new Arcen house style. Very drinkable and inoffensive, but also unimpressive.

Classic Dutch spring bock, golden blonde with fruity and hoppy character and a relatively long, dryish finish. More bitter than usual in this style.

Bottle (traded with Bierkoning, thanks !) Deep golden coloured, small fluffy white head; sweet, malty and citric aroma with a touch of alcohol and honey, some herbal hops in the background; moderate sweet bitter flavour, a little, little bit acidic; sweetish citrousy finish. Decent Bock, a bit - as usual - too sweet....

Bottle, 7.2%. Slightly rough, citric hop aroma. Golden colour, soapy white head. The flavour is yeasty with some OK aroma hops, citric and fruity. Well-balanced with the alcohol.

(bottle, received by trade with bierkoning – thanks!) Clear golden colour with a foamy white medium head. Slightly sweet malty, herbal and light-flowery hops aroma with a tinge of fruitiness (honey). Sweet flavour, medium bodied, well-carbonated. Sweet malty and slightly nutty taste; slightly sugary and sweetbitter finish, slightly hoppy and quite adherent tart finish.

(Bottle 30 cl) Beautiful, fully golden with a dense, handsome head. Very pronounced, dry hop-aroma. Distinct sweetness, but far from cloying. Has some wheat added. Top-fermented. 190405

A dark orange beer with a beutiful white head. The aroma is spicy sweet with notes of citrus. THe flavor is also spicy with notes of melon and citrus before a dry hoppy and spicy end comes along.

Very clear, colour of old gold; yellowish tinted head. Grassy nose with markedly cocos/copra aroma. Unfortunately fast gone, leaving just a suspicion of orange and nothing else. Burnt/roasted taste, a tad harsh; aroma of citruszeste and candi sugar. Rather thinnish mouthfeel, burning sensation, but not alcohol. In the aftertaste, an earthy flavour comes up. A bit - well, quite - harsh. And most surprising, it has the character of a not-too-super tripel ale, rather than that of a Bock.
