This Irish cocktail inspired Stout features notes of vanilla beans, fresh ground coffee, and Irish whiskey with a rich creamy finish. Dark malts combine with a subtle balance of hops to create a dark ale of comfort with a sure-fire salute to the famous spirit. Sláinte!

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine - Daytona Beach. Pours a crystal clear super dark brown color with ruby highlights and a large, tight khaki head with excellent retention. Great lacing too. Vanilla cream aroma. The taste follows the nose. Strong and sweet vanilla cream flavor with very few stout characteristics other than the color. I would have labeled this a vanilla cream ale. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Medium+ body. Not bitter. Low carbonation. A nice one-off beer, but not really what I'm looking for in a stout. Too much Irish cream and not enough stout.

Mixed feelings about this one. The initial pour was interesting, big nose that was first lots of chocolate (despite, apparently none of that being here), a touch of vanilla, and burnt sugars, with a sweet nutty element somewhat reminiscent of pecan pie. The flavor was a tad more one-dimensions, with initial vanilla and caramel, very light coffee and cocoa notes. It had something I couldn't quite place, until I remembered the name of this beer and then it hit me - this definitely tastes like someone poured some Bailey's Irish cream into a sweet porter. Honestly I had been hoping for a dry stout here, I guess maybe I didn't think much about the cream stout part of the name and saw what I wanted, which was Irish stout. So this was not an ideal partner to my fish and chips. Its best alone really, but in total, that irish cream sweetness is a bit much, and I'm just not digging in. Also, I keep imagining, even after my 3rd bottle on 2 separate days, that I can almost taste a peppermint note buried in there somewhere. Someone else mentioned that down below I see - is there actually mint in this? I'm definitely experiencing that classic mint cooling sensation in the aftertaste right now. It's not a bad beer by any means but it doesn't suit my tastes very well. Dark brown not black color, modest head and good lacing in the glass.

$2.51 bottle, TWSP. Clear dark brown with a small beige-tan head. Vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, Irish cream nose. Vanilla, coffee, chocolate, Irish cream flavors definitely there. Has an artificial flavor for sure, but this is not bad.
