Contrary to popular belief, we have found that the blackberry grenade was in fact the first tool of modern warfare.* This beer is a homage to the now infamous blackberry grenade utilised during the Mesopotamian fruit war of 2700 BCE which made the rivers run red with juicy goodness.

Tart body that doesn’t really go anywhere. Solid but not amazing.

Can from Old Street Brewery, Bethnal Green on 28th March 2021. Rated as a novelty ale. Pours a dull reddish pink with limited, non-lacing foam. Caramel malts and tart blackberries in aroma, with lemon citrus. Juicy berry fruits and lime citrus in-mouth, and a finish of fading fruits and rich nuttiness. Zingy mouthfeel and a light body. Actually a very pleasant drink, something different and interesting as we approach Lockdown’s end.
